A recent survey conducted by Kantar Media reveals that Temu is making a significant impact on price transparency and competition in the Nordic region. More than 75% of Nordic consumers acknowledge Temu’s role in increasing access to affordable, quality products and providing them with a wider range of choices. The survey, which polled over 4,000 consumers across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland, highlights Temu’s contribution to driving affordability and convenience in the region.

Temu spokesperson expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response from Nordic consumers, stating that Temu aims to provide unbeatable value and expand choices for consumers in the region. Launched in the U.S. in September 2022, Temu has rapidly expanded to over 90 markets worldwide, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Oceania.
Supply chain expert Peter Nordgaard commended Temu for pushing prices down in the Nordic markets and making products more affordable for consumers. He emphasized that Temu’s direct connection with manufacturers eliminates middlemen and reduces costs, ultimately benefiting the consumers.
Since its European launch in April 2023, Temu has gained popularity in the Nordics for its competitive prices and wide product selection. The Kantar survey revealed that consumers prioritize competitive prices, a wide product selection, unique finds, and free shipping when choosing Temu.
E-commerce expert Bengt Wessborg highlighted that Temu offers the same quality products available elsewhere but without the added cost of middlemen. He emphasized that low prices do not necessarily equate to poor quality, making Temu a preferred choice for many consumers.
Logistics veteran Andre Veskimeister noted the rapid market penetration of Temu in the Nordic region, with 86% of consumers aware of or interacting with the platform within a short timeframe. He pointed out that awareness in Denmark is even higher at 88%, indicating a strong presence in the market.
