Assessment of Storm Damage in Mississippi Counties
PEARL, Miss. (MEMA) – The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is currently assessing storm damage that occurred on February 15-16, 2025. Reports indicate homes damaged, trees down, roads closed, and power outages across the state. As of 8:30 AM, there are 41,000 reported power outages.
Initial assessments are ongoing, with 7 counties reporting damage at this time. The counties affected include:
- Chickasaw
- Forrest
- Itawamba
- Lee
- Rankin
- Wayne
- Walthall
Residents impacted by the severe weather are advised to:
- File an insurance claim
- Document damage with photos
- Report damage to county/MEMA using the self-report tool
