Next-Gen Telecom Power Architecture and AI Data Center Guidelines by Huawei

During the product and solution launch at the MWC Barcelona 2025, He Bo, the president of Huawei’s Data Center Facility and Critical Power Product Line, unveiled the next-generation power supply architecture for telecom stations called “Single SitePower.” He also introduced guidelines for building AI RAS data centers, aiming to help operators navigate the energy landscape as prosumers and construct better IT facilities in the new AI era.

The emergence of data center-focused network architectures in the intelligent era has led to a greater demand for digital and smart energy. According to He Bo, Huawei Digital Power is continuously innovating in architectures and solutions to assist operators in succeeding as energy prosumers.

Single SitePower is an intelligent next-generation architecture for telecom station power supply installations. This architecture utilizes a three-level synergy mechanism encompassing telecom power supply installations, wireless networks, and energy networks to enable bidirectional interaction between energy and information flows in a comprehensive process from energy source to network to load to storage. The solution supports full-link measurement, visualization, and management, enhancing energy efficiency (SEE) and energy availability (PAV) while reducing carbon dioxide emissions intensity (NCIe). The architecture offers three unique features:

– Resilience: Huawei integrates wireless networks and telecom power supply installation networks to implement network-source, source-storage, and storage-load synergy and build resilient facilities throughout the process.
– Ecology: Modern technologies such as high-voltage serial connections, optimizers, intelligent algorithms, arc-fault circuit interrupters (AFCI), and rapid shutdown devices (RSD) can be utilized to build eco-friendly installations and accelerate the monetization of clean energy values.
– Reliability: Huawei believes that to ensure reliable communication, high-quality safe lithium batteries should be primarily chosen.

AI RAS guidelines for building data centers cover challenges in reliability, uncertainty, fast delivery, and high energy demand. Through joint innovations with clients worldwide, Huawei has proposed guidelines for building AI RAS data centers:

– Reliability: As the value of AI facilities grows rapidly, reliability becomes a major challenge. AI data centers should implement enhanced architecture, products, intelligent management, and professional services to ensure reliability throughout the lifecycle.
– Agility: AI data centers should be agile, utilizing modular structures and separating electrical and mechanical functions for flexible management of uncertain requirements and enabling fast delivery.
– Sustainable Development: Power source efficiency is a key issue in data centers. Improving energy efficiency will focus less on individual device efficiency and more on parallel system efficiency and large-scale implementation of the super economic mode (S-ECO).

“We support the concepts of Power for AI and AI for Power and will continue to invest in technological innovations promoting stronger integration of digital, intelligent, and low-emission technologies to build resilient, environmentally friendly, and reliable IT installations, helping operators transition from energy consumers to energy prosumers,” said He Bo.

The MWC Barcelona 2025 trade show is taking place from March 3 to 6 in Barcelona. Huawei will showcase its latest products and solutions at booth 1H50 in hall 1 Fira Gran Via. In 2025, the company will accelerate the commercial deployment of 5G-Advanced, and artificial intelligence will assist operators in reshaping their business, infrastructure, and maintenance operations. Huawei actively collaborates with operators and partners worldwide to accelerate the transition to an intelligent world.
