Intirion’s MicroFridge® Appliance Patentability Confirmed by USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board

Title: Intirion’s MicroFridge® Patents Upheld by USPTO

Yesterday, the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) confirmed the patentability of Intirion’s innovative MicroFridge® combination appliance. U.S. Patent No. 11,674,745 and U.S. Patent No. 11,674,746 covering Intirion’s combination microwave and refrigerator unit with integrated smoke sensor and power management technology were upheld in their entirety.

The PTAB’s decision followed Post-Grant Review proceedings initiated by College Products, challenging the validity of both patents. However, the challenges were rejected as applied to Intirion’s combination microwave and refrigerator unit with patented power management technology.

“Our customers have trusted MicroFridge® appliances for decades, and this ruling confirms what they already know—our products are backed by patented, field-proven technology,” said Andrew Raymond, President of Danby Appliances. “We’re proud to continue serving colleges, universities, and students with dependable, innovative solutions.”
