At the Green All-Optical Network Forum in Barcelona, which took place during the MWC 25 Congress, Kim Jin, Vice President of Huawei’s optical product line, introduced four innovative all-optical solutions aimed at helping global operators build F5.5G all-optical networks focused on AI for mutual prosperity in the intelligent era.
The global AI industry is thriving and accelerating the commercial use of domestic broadband networks at 10 Gbit/s and fully optical urban networks at 1 ms latency. Huawei’s innovative solutions can provide comprehensive tools for network implementation for global operators.
Optical Access Network: As AI continues to rise, Central Offices (COs) must innovate to 50G PON to provide ubiquitous 10GE access. Huawei launched the first intelligent OLT solution MA5800T X17 last year. Now introducing X15, X8, and X2 to meet various capacity requirements. They have the highest T-level forwarding capacity in the industry and support high-density 50G PON, allowing operators to build future-proof networks. The FAN Intelligent Engine architecture collaborates with NCE to support application-level private line services, optimize Wi-Fi between users, and plan on-demand computing power to help operators achieve “network as a service.”
Urban Network: Last year, Huawei launched the AI-focused All-optical Metro Architecture, enabling 1-millisecond latency for DCA and DCI. Now introducing the fastest 2T board solution in the industry. With the new TFLN modulator, single-wavelength capacity increased from 1.6 Tbit/s to 2 Tbit/s, reducing costs per bit by 20%. The OceanStream energy-saving algorithm can automatically power off idle circuits in real-time operation, saving up to 50% energy consumption. Proactive latency detection and planning support AI-powered latency mapping and service planning.
Backbone Network: The OSN 9800 K series introduced last year is the first OTN solution oriented towards one-way traffic. Now introducing K12, supporting multiple scenarios in a smaller footprint. With improved FEC algorithm, K12 achieves 30% better performance and 1000 km longer reach for 800 G. Optical switching time reduced to less than 50 milliseconds with Hybrid ASON technology, optimizing costs while maintaining 99.9999% network availability. Smooth switching, dual power and dual reception, and rapid deduplication algorithm ensure AI computational efficiency.
Intelligent Management and Control: Huawei iMaster NCE introduces AI for intelligent management and control. For all-optical access, HBB Agent proactively identifies low quality in advance and automatically resolves faults within 1 minute, reducing user complaints by 60%. For all-optical transmission, the digital map proactively identifies network and service risks and automatically resolves issues within 15 minutes.
“AI is rapidly changing the world and bringing unprecedented opportunities for optical networks,” said Kim Jin. “Huawei continues to innovate to help operators build F5.5G all-optical networks focused on AI, with high quality and efficiency to seize new opportunities.”
In conclusion, Huawei’s innovative solutions in optical networking are revolutionizing the industry, providing advanced capabilities for global operators to build future-proof networks. By embracing AI and focusing on high-quality, efficient solutions, Huawei is paving the way for the next generation of optical networks.
