Huawei to Unveil World’s First Commercial Triple-Fold Phone at MWC 2025

Huawei Unveils Cutting-Edge Technology at Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona

The Mobile World Congress (MWC 2025) kicked off on March 3 in Barcelona, Spain, with Huawei showcasing its innovative foldable phone, the HUAWEI Mate XT | ULTIMATE DESIGN, along with other high-end, technologically advanced products. Attendees had the opportunity to explore dedicated experience zones featuring foldable devices, health and fitness technologies, photography tools, and creative work solutions, demonstrating how Huawei integrates the latest technologies into everyday life.

Many attendees were particularly excited about the Mate XT, the world’s first commercially available triple-fold smartphone. Featuring patented hinge and screen technologies, Huawei has created a phone with a unique folding mechanism. The device also boasts a camera with an adjustable physical aperture in 10 sizes. At the Huawei Consumer BG booth, a large screen showcasing 3D effects highlighted the merits of this exclusive triple-fold phone. Additionally, the booth featured the HUAWEI Mate 70 series phones with an Ultra Chroma camera offering unprecedented color accuracy. The Intelligence Scenario experience area allowed attendees to test features like multiple exposures and AI-based retouching. The Mate X6 area showcased innovative materials used in the phone, inviting attendees to cut ice with a graphene sheet to experience the material’s remarkable thermal conductivity.

To demonstrate its wide range of devices, Huawei simulated real-life health and sports scenarios. In the cycling experience area, participants could compare real-time heart rate data captured by professional sports heart rate monitors with data from the HUAWEI TruSense system on the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5. The Health Glance zone showcased the multiple health indicators measured by the HUAWEI WATCH D2, the first smart device to receive medical certification as a wrist-based ambulatory blood pressure monitor. Huawei also presented a line of smart devices offering a premium wrist-worn experience with exceptional design and intelligent features. In recent years, smart devices have been a significant growth driver for Huawei’s consumer business. The introduction of the HUAWEI TruSense system last September, which monitors health and fitness data and analyzes user health status, represented a complete overhaul of the company’s previous health metrics system and was fully showcased in Barcelona.

The GoPaint experience zone attracted crowds with a display of artworks created by artists worldwide using Huawei’s exclusive GoPaint software on the MatePad, powered by a professional brush engine and FangTian Painting Engine 2.0. Huawei targeted both professionals and creative beginners with this year’s MatePad Pro featuring a 13.2″ OLED PaperMatte display. The PaperMatte Display is a patented standard for tablet screens that offers vibrant colors while minimizing reflection, providing users with a writing and drawing experience akin to pen on paper. The HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd generation) designed for use with the MatePad Pro boasts 10,000 levels of pressure sensitivity, enabling users to make the most of GoPaint’s various virtual brushes. The 13.2″ MatePad Pro also includes WPS Office at a PC level and a laptop-like interface, allowing users to enjoy flexible window zooming, keyboard and mouse-based interactions, and efficient multitasking with the Live-Multitask feature.

In conclusion, Huawei’s showcase at the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation and technology. From the revolutionary foldable phone to smart health devices and advanced creative tools, Huawei continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the tech industry. With a focus on user experience and cutting-edge design, Huawei’s products are setting new standards for the future of technology.
