In Honor of Its Anniversary, American Standard is Launching the 150th Anniversary Down Payment Contest to Help Make Homeownership a Reality

American Standard believes everyone deserves to live in a home they love – but understands the challenges that can stand in the way of homeownership. A recent survey* reveals that 38% of American adults fear they’ll never be able to afford their own home, while only 25% feel confident they’ll achieve this key part of the “American Dream.” Unsurprisingly, the biggest barrier to homeownership is the high price tag (63%) followed by affording a down payment (44%), and high mortgage rates (42%).

In recognition of these challenges – and as a token of appreciation to those who have helped American Standard reach this milestone anniversary – the brand is introducing The American Standard 150th Down Payment Contest. Beginning today, April 14, 2025, through June 30, 2025, the brand will award a total of $150,000 in down payment assistance. 10 inspiring individuals will receive $15,000 to allow them to take their next step toward home ownership. To enter, participants must submit a video (90 seconds or less) sharing their story and explaining how this payment assistance could transform their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
