At the Huawei Product & Solution Launch within MWC Barcelona 2025, Huawei’s Board Director and CEO of the ICT Business Group, Yang Chaobin, introduced the company’s Artificial Intelligence-based Network solution. According to Yang, the emergence of high-quality, low-cost, and open-source AI models will lead to various new innovations in applications, accelerating the creation of a smart world.
Advancements in AI will transform society on three levels. It will provide consumers with a highly personalized experience, promote intelligent collaboration in organizations, and lay the groundwork for a more inclusive intelligence for everyone. In the ICT industry, evolving technology and diverse application scenarios will create unprecedented growth opportunities while raising the bar for network infrastructure. To fully benefit from these opportunities, operators need to make comprehensive leaps in network bandwidth, latency, coverage, and Operations and Maintenance.
Yang stated that Huawei’s AI-based Network solution was designed to meet these needs. The solution revolutionizes network capabilities to enable connectivity across all domains. It strengthens the transition to application-focused Operations and Maintenance and reshapes telecom service and business models to fully leverage the new opportunities presented by AI.
Yang explained how Huawei’s solution can help operators prepare for the increasing adoption of AI-supported applications and detailed the challenges they may face. The solution focuses on four layers:
1. Universal Connectivity: Deep collaboration between AI and networks allows operators to optimize resource allocation for routing, bandwidth, etc. This will provide universal network access, ultra-high-speed connectivity, and SLA assurance for intelligent applications.
2. Application-focused Operations and Maintenance: Advances in AI applications will lead to more complex service scenarios with diverse experience requirements, necessitating a shift from traditional resource-centric network Operations and Maintenance to an application-focused approach.
3. Enhanced AI-to-X Services: AI-based networks can provide the right experience for different AI scenarios by accurately allocating bandwidth, latency, and reliability levels. At the enterprise level, networks can support structured capacity and response times for person-to-person interactions, enabling interactions from person to device and even device to device.
4. Innovative Business Models: The varying experience requirements will allow operators to explore new revenue models beyond traditional traffic-based monetization. AI-based networks will enable operators to monetize the experience itself, unlocking the full potential of connectivity and paving the way for new revenue streams.
Yang concluded by emphasizing the need for collaboration in the telecom sector to leverage the capabilities of networks, collaborate with different industries, and engage in scenario-specific innovation to capitalize on new growth opportunities in the AI era.
In summary, MWC Barcelona 2025 will showcase the latest products and solutions from Huawei at Stand 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1. Commercial deployment of 5G-Advanced will accelerate in 2025, with AI assisting operators in reshaping their businesses, infrastructure, and Operations and Maintenance processes. Huawei is actively working with operators and business partners worldwide to accelerate the transition to a smart world.
